We know you like the team at CAL, but did you know that your partner is one of the top GP partners in the world? We are proud to announce that for the 7th time CAL has earned Dynamics Presidents Club status. This designation was given to only 359 companies worldwide – representing the top 5% of Dynamics partners. We are pretty sure CAL was the only New England GP partner to earn this title. Even better, this year CAL also received the 2010 East Region Partner Northeast Area Dynamics Area Partner of the Year Award – recognizing excellence in sales, customer service and support. Not bad for a small company in Connecticut! But while we truly value this industry recognition, the most important award for us is being chosen by clients like you. Thank you for your support.

Amber’s Tips & Tricks
Hello everyone: Five years, I cannot believe that it has been five years since I packed my bags and headed out east from sunny San Diego to the beautiful multi-seasoned Northeast! I have made many new friends both at work and personal (some are both). One thing that I have found to be true between GP users on the East Coast and West Coast (and points in between) is that everyone learns at their own pace with a different primary method. I was reminded of this on a recent project. I had given the new users a packet of customized GP documentation. Once I finished the first round of training, the main GP contact began writing their own internal documentation. There are some people that just need to put the process in their own words. The truth is, if you find a way that works for you…go with it. Our goal at CAL is to offer you several training options and help you find the way that fits your needs. Did you know that Microsoft offers free online training for GP? You can access this off of CustomerSource. Did you know you can download Sample Reports and GP Manuals off of CustomerSource as well? Did you know that CAL offers remote training to GP users (many are out of state and some are out of the country)? CAL has several training classes that are scheduled including a 3-day “New User Bootcamp”. Also, if you have not already done so, don’t delay to register for our CAL Connect2010 event. The early bird registration deadline is fast approaching on August 1st so register now. You will get a full day of training (16 sessions in 4 different tracks: Financial, Executive, Technical & Informational). This month’s tip is courtesy of Sue Conrod. It is how to connect Excel to FRx. Click here for instructions. Thank you to everyone that has helped me feel at home here in Connecticut. I couldn’t have made the move without the support of all of you! I look forward to the adventures that the next 5 years hold for me. Have a great day and see you soon!!

Microsoft Introduces Updated Management Reporter to Replace FRx
BY News Editor PUBLISHED: May 25, 2010 Microsoft answered the most pressing questions users have raised about FRx with introduction of a “powerful” updated version of Management Reporter, which will be initially available to Dynamics GP 2010 customers. “We are moving into replacement mode for FRx,” Guy Weismantel, director of marketing, Microsoft Dynamics ERP, told MSDynamicsWorld.com. He said the new version of Management Reporter, formerly codenamed Management Reporter 2.0, will offer “a clear path to upgrade” along with “native Windows 7 integration”-two key concerns users have voiced. PUBLISHED: May 25, 2010 Microsoft answered the most pressing questions users have raised about FRx with introduction of a “powerful” updated version of Management Reporter, which will be initially available to Dynamics GP 2010 customers. According to Crispin Read, general manager of Microsoft Dynamics ERP, “This is the first step in a multiyear roadmap to deliver broader corporate performance management capabilities across our Microsoft Dynamics ERP solutions. Management Reporter retains many elements of the Microsoft FRx product, but is built on a completely updated architecture that will provide a new level of scalability and reliability for customers.” Management Reporter is intended to extend the proven functionality of Microsoft FRx and enable users to quickly and easily create, generate, help secure and publish professional-looking financial statements, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. Les Wright, senior consultant, BDO Canada LLP, a Microsoft Dynamics partner, characterized Management Reporter as “Microsoft FRx on steroids – it takes the familiar building blocks of Microsoft FRx and revolutionizes the way reporting and business intelligence can be delivered.” Microsoft listed the following new features available to FRx customers making the transition to Management Reporter: —Direct integration to the Microsoft Dynamics ERP general ledger. This integration aids in simplified, real-time reporting with greater accuracy. —Reusable building blocks. Blocks of Report, Row, Column and Tree definitions can be mixed and matched to produce a wide variety of boardroom-quality reports. –A Report Library. A Report Library is where reports can be secured, stored, and viewed
