CAL Connect2016

What Happened to Convergence?

The first Convergence event was in 1997 and the last was in 2015; although we did not know at the time that it would be the last one! Microsoft announced that they have ended the Convergence event and replaced it with “Envision”. However Envision will not have any Dynamics GP content. Although it is sure to be educational, we are not recommending this event to our CAL clients as we have done in the past with Convergence. Of course, we feel the best event for Dynamics GP users to attend this year is CAL Connect2016 right here in Bristol, Connecticut on May 19th. Find out more about your event options.

1095-C’s are Tougher than W-2s and 1099s- Are You Ready?

You’re done with W-2s – old hat – and 1099s, which you’ve got down to a T. But are 1095-Cs- part of the IRS reporting rules under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) – on your list, too? If you’re not sure, check here.

If you are one of the many US companies that these IRS reporting rules apply to, here’s what you need to do around 1095-Cs this tax season:

 – Gather and process the payroll and benefits data you need for this form.
 – Identify which employees are “full-time” i.e. you need to produce a 1095-C for.
 – Fill in the 1095-Cs and their transmittal, Form 1094-C, for the IRS.

Get these forms out to employees by March 31 and to the IRS a bit later.
If you don’t, you will incur a non-filing penalty of $500 per required return!

By automating most of these steps with Integrity Data’s ACA solution, you can produce 1095-C forms painlessly for your employees by March 31 and then be ACA-ready, effortlessly, for filing copies with the IRS by May 31 (for paper returns) or June 30 (for electronic returns -required for 250 and more copies of 1095-Cs)

Twice a week, Integrity Data hosts an ACA 101 for Employers webinar.
