Have you ever needed to put a picture of an item on a document but you are not in the office? Now it is easy to do it from a mobile device too. In Acumatica 2020 R1, Acumatica has combined the mobile access with file uploads.

“Because this is a custom item, this client tells us that it would be really important for them to get a file or a picture of that custom item attached to this record. In Acumatica 2020 R1, we have combined the mobile access with file uploads. All I have to do from this record if I’d like to upload a file, and I can do this either at the document level here or down at the line level, is I’ll select my files, and you’ll also see on there that I have this option to upload using a mobile app. That is going to send a push notification directly to my mobile device. So now that I’m onsite with that client, I can snap a photo and attach it directly to the record.
First things first, let’s check out the custom item, my Acumatica headphones. I’m also going to flip to my smartphone here and just show the notification that I received on my device. From my smartphone as well, you’re going to see that there. I’m also going to be taken directly into the record now. No need for me to navigate to the record where that’s necessary. There’s my headphones, my awesome Acumatica headphones that we need this photo of, and I’ll upload it to the record. Now, watch when I hit “Done” on my mobile device, you’ll immediately see that it has appeared here on the backend. This is all happening in real-time, so there’s no need for me, again, to email myself that document to upload it into Acumatica, no need for a drag and drop or any type of upload. Directly from my mobile device with just a few clicks, I have now saved that file in the database, completely searchable if I need to reuse it again.”
