Dynamics GP to Dynamics 365 Business Central is NOT an Upgrade
Going from Dynamics GP to Dynamics 365 Business Central is not an upgrade. It is a full system conversion. If you are going to do a full ERP conversion, you should evaluate your options and include Acumatica.
Multiple customers called CAL Business Solutions this week saying that Microsoft contacted them directly offering an easy upgrade from GP to Business Central. That is not true. They make it sound easy, but it is not easy. The underlying file database, the table structures, the reporting files are all different. This is not an upgrade.
They also say you are “moving to a brand new system”. Dynamics 365 is just Dynamics NAV under the hood, that is not new.
Acumatica is truly a modern ERP system, born in the cloud. We’ve converted from Dynamics GP to Acumatica to run our own business and it was extremely successful.
We have done multiple comparisons of functionality between Dynamics GP and Acumatica and we feel Acumatica is really an option you should evaluate if you want to go to the cloud.
