Prior to the 18.7 release, the actual ‘Remit To’ Address (in full) and Name were not stored in the history table. Only the Remit Address ID was stored, which did not provide sufficient information for audit or fraud prevention. This lack of detail made it difficult to validate that the remittance information was submitted to the correct vendor resource if the payment record needed to be validated later for audit purposes.

Because only the Remit Address ID was stored, end users couldn’t review the full details of the address (such as Contact, Address, etc.) that existed at the time of posting. These details may have changed on that specific Address ID since the check was printed and distributed.

With the 18.7 release, a new table was added to store all this information to produce a more exacting audit trail. The new table, PM80810 – PM_Reprint_Address (Display Name: PM Reprint Address), allows users to view the full Remit To Address as it was at the time of posting in the associated inquiry windows in Dynamics GP. The system will also verify the remit to address details to determine which transactions to pay in a check build.

This update is crucial for users because it enhances the accuracy and reliability of audit trails, which are essential for both internal and external audits. By storing the full Remit To Address details, users can ensure that the remittance information is accurate and has not been tampered with, thereby preventing fraud. This level of detail also helps in validating payments and ensuring that they were made to the correct vendor, which is vital for maintaining financial integrity and security.

Thank you for voting to include this enhancement for GP. Your support has made it possible to implement a feature that significantly enhances security for all users. By ensuring more accurate audit trails and preventing fraud, Microsoft is collectively contributing to a safer and more reliable system.  Keep your suggestions coming, they are listening!
